Dr. Aaditya Shah

Dr. Shah is proud to return home to "The Region" to offer expert, compassionate retina care to patients across the greater Chicago area, with a special focus on Northwest Indiana.

A Munster High School graduate and all-state scholar-athlete, Dr. Shah went on to earn the prestigious Herman B Wells Scholarship at Indiana University, where he majored in Neuroscience. He continued at Indiana University School of Medicine with the Dean's Scholarship and graduated second in a class of 347 students. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honors Societies, two of the top honors in the field of medicine.

Dr. Shah completed his Ophthalmology residency and Vitreoretinal Surgery fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis—nationally recognized as one of the top institutions in the field. He served as a Clinical Instructor in Ophthalmology, mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and surgical settings. He also provided care to our nation's veterans at the John Cochran VA Medical Center, an experience he describes as both humbling and rewarding.

Dr. Shah is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and national conferences. He is experienced in the latest medical and surgical treatments for retinal conditions, and is dedicated to providing personalized, thoughtful care to every patient.

Now back in his hometown with his wife, a gastroenterologist, and their daughter, Dr. Shah is honored to serve the community that helped raise him. He values strong relationships with local ophthalmologists and optometrists and believes in partnering closely with patients to help preserve and restore their vision.
