Fluorescein Angiography
What is Fluorescein Angiography?
This test uses a special dye (called fluorescein) and a series of photographs to highlight the blood vessels in your retina.
Why it's done
It helps us detect abnormal or leaky blood vessels, blockages, and areas of poor circulation—common in diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, or vein occlusions.
What to expect
A small amount of dye is injected into a vein in your arm, and as it travels to your eyes, we take photos. You may notice a yellow tint to your skin and bright yellow urine for a few hours—that's totally normal and temporary.
